Cartridge filter
The lime is separated from the thin juice in cartridge filters and filter presses. The cartridge filter consists of a filter housing and one or more cartridges, which are inserted in it, through which the fluid flows in from the outside. The cartridges come in various designs. The most common are the wound cartridges which consist of a coiled filament. Others, depending on the area of application, are made from ceramic or metal. Cartridges can also be provided with replaceable filter media, which are usually used in the cake-forming filtration. A closed cartridge filter has the advantage that it is a closed filter system without drip loss and it guarantees good recoverability.
